Yesterday, Air Products announced the formation of a new joint venture with Debang Xinghua Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangsu Debang Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Debang Group), in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China Construction, ownership and operation of a coal-to-synthesis gas processing unit in Xuxu National Petrochemical Park.

Air Products will hold 80% of the joint venture, and Debon Group will hold 20%. The joint venture will own and operate the air separation unit, gasification and purification unit, and will supply synthesis gas to Debon Group's chemical plant with an annual production capacity of 350,000 tons under a 20-year contract for a fixed monthly fee. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2023.

In addition, Air Products will be the exclusive purchaser of commercial liquid products produced by the joint venture, while the joint venture will provide high-growth chemical, optoelectronic and general Manufacturing provides sufficient raw materials.

Air Products Chairman, President and CEO Seifi Ghasemi said: "This new project will advance our gasification business growth strategy in the Xuwei National Petrochemical Park, The production base has increased the source of raw material supply. Xuwei National Petrochemical Park is one of the seven national comprehensive refining and petrochemical parks in China. We are honored to establish a joint venture with Debon Group to own and operate the gasification unit and provide syngas , so that Debon Group can produce ammonia and other products needed for its customers."

Zhao Xianghai, chairman of Debon Group, said: "This project is Debon Group's response to the 'National Eastern, Central and Western Regional Cooperation Demonstration Zone' Strategy, speeding up the pace of scientific and technological innovation, eliminating outdated production capacity, and building a competitive and innovative green chemical enterprise group. This project has received strong support from the municipal government and the Xuwei National Petrochemical Park Management Committee. We believe that this is just a Commencement.
