Li Junxian, male, was born in Meishan County, Sichuan Province on March 10, 1928. In August 1950, he graduated from the chemical engineering department of the National Central Technical College in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. He started working in August 1950 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 1956.

In 1951, he worked in the research office of Shenyang Northeast Chemical Industry Bureau. Due to his hard work, he was later transferred to the Russian language training class of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute. In 1959, he was sent by the organization to do a research internship at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Central Chemistry Committee of the Soviet Union, and returned to China one year later.
In the early 1960s, China decided to develop cutting-edge technologies for national defense, and arranged for the development of “two bombs and one satellite” and their propellants. At this time, the organization decided to let Li Junxian, who was in his early 30s, be the director of the Rocket Propellant Research Office. For the installation of various equipment, Li Junxian always goes to the site in person, checks repeatedly, and checks carefully. Li Junxian has been engaged in the synthesis of organic chemicals for a long time. The successful development of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine by chloramine method meets the needs of various missiles, and the production equipment and product quality are at the advanced level in the world; the successful development of monomethylhydrazine meets the needs of high-efficiency pesticides and long-life satellite attitude control; The main component has developed Yupush-3 fuel, the product quality has reached the advanced level of fuel for thermal power torpedoes in the United States, and it has now been used as a propellant for Chinese thermal power torpedoes; participated in and presided over the development of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene for solid propellants Pilot test research to meet the needs of more than 30 types of rockets and missiles.
