In October this year, Arkema grandly held the opening ceremony of its first R&D center in China at its Changshu base. On the basis of Arkema Japan R&D Center, the establishment of Arkema Changshu R&D Center will further promote Arkema Group to realize its positive development goals in Asia.
Richard Ren told reporters that the Changshu R&D Center is crucial to the company’s localization strategy. “I hope that the Changshu R&D Center will work closely with local Chinese customers to localize the emulsion formula and develop new products that are more suitable for Chinese customers.” In his view, the establishment of cooperative relations between the company and local customers is the basis for the development of new products. “We first need to establish a cooperative relationship with local customers. Through cooperation, we can understand the needs of customers for the raw materials they are currently purchasing, especially resin. Charlie Ren said that customers in the Chinese market are now very concerned about environmentally friendly products, and they require products that are harmless, low-odor, low-VOC, and formaldehyde-free. “If our product line is to be produced sustainably, we must pay attention to these characteristics in the market.” Ren Charlie said, “China’s future market will pay more attention to green products and environmental protection.
