“In 2022, my country’s new chemical materials industry will achieve sales revenue of 1.3 trillion yuan, breaking through the trillion mark for the first time. At the same time, accelerating the development of strategic new chemical materials has become an important goal for the current industry to stabilize growth, adjust structure, promote transformation, and increase efficiency. important direction.” This is the news that the reporter got at the 2023 China Chemical New Materials Industry Development Strategy Seminar held on July 17-19.
According to Li Shousheng, president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, my country’s new chemical material production capacity will reach 45 million tons per year in 2022, and the output will exceed 31 million tons. The industry has successively conquered high-end polyolefins such as metallocene polypropylene; high-performance engineering plastics such as optical grade PMMA; high-performance rubber such as hydrogenated nitrile rubber; high-strength and high-modulus polyimide, large-tow carbon fiber, high-elongation meta-aramid, High-performance fibers such as high-toughness para-aramid fiber; high-performance film materials such as calcium titanium quantum dot optical film; electronic grade sulfuric acid, electronic grade phosphoric acid and other electronic chemicals have made outstanding contributions to ensuring national energy security and industrial chain security.
“However, there are still deficiencies in the development of my country’s new chemical materials industry, such as the need to enhance innovation capabilities, insufficient investment in R&D, insufficient technical reserves, and weak supply capabilities for common technologies.” Deputy Director of the Petrochemical Department of the National Development and Reform Commission’s Industrial Development Department Chang Yang Songfeng pointed out that the supply of elements of my country’s new chemical materials industry is fragmented, and the lack of financial strength of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises restricts the research and development of new chemical materials and the transformation of research and development results. form.
Yang Songfeng emphasized that the industry should focus on breakthroughs in new chemical materials that have a decisive impact on the supply chain of the innovation chain industry chain, and promote new breakthroughs in the high-quality development of new chemical materials. This requires the industry to clarify the development direction of key areas, promote ethylene and other industries to maintain a reasonable level of funds, encourage the extension of industries, and develop downstream end-end chemical new material products.
Li Shousheng suggested that the industry should focus on the bottleneck of industrial development, concentrate on making up for shortcomings, and overcome a number of key core technologies, such as high-carbon α-olefins, polyolefin elastomers, ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymers and other high-end polyolefin materials, 5G communication High-end electronic chemicals such as resin materials for core copper-clad laminates for base stations, high-end acoustic film materials, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to accelerate the high-end breakthrough of key core technologies, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and accelerate the demonstration of the production and application of new materials. It is also necessary to continuously accumulate the level and ability of my country’s chemical new material technology reserves in accordance with the innovative idea of ”developing a batch, producing a batch, and storing a batch”.
In the development of new chemical materials, fine chemicals provide support for the continuous upgrading of new materials. However, the current development of my country’s fine chemical industry also has problems such as low function of products in new fields, insufficient originality, low performance of traditional products, and low manufacturing efficiency. Peng Xiaojun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Dalian University of Technology, proposed a new path: “Fine chemical engineering will evolve from 1.0 to 2.0, and intelligent molecular engineering is a historical new opportunity for fine chemical engineering to change lanes and overtake vehicles.” He explained that intelligent molecular engineering is divided into three parts. The first step is to realize the intelligentization of molecular functions through automatic identification, automatic execution, and automatic recovery. The second step is to realize the intelligentization of molecular design through intelligent independent learning of structure and performance. The third step is to realize the realization of Intelligent processes for molecular manufacturing.
At the meeting, Tian Hongchi, general manager and chief engineer of Shandong Dawn Co., Ltd., and Chai Yongfeng, general manager of Tianchen Qixiang New Material Co., Ltd. shared their experience in high-quality development in the new chemical material industry. The meeting was sponsored by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and Jining Municipal People’s Government, organized by the Chemical New Materials Professional Committee of Petrochemical Federation, China Inorganic Salt Industry Association, Jinxiang County People’s Government, and co-organized by Jining New Material Industrial Park Management Committee.
