Shaanxi 1.2 million tons of BDO and 600,000 tons of PBAT projects have made new progress!

On the morning of July 11, Shaanxi Province’s key project observation group for the second quarter of 2023 entered the Shenmu Shenxin Circular Economy Industry Demonstration Project in Shenmu City, Yulin City.

Project investment: a total investment of 77.22 billion yuan

Project area: about 15,000 mu

Construction period: The project construction period is 2022-2026

Construction content: The project mainly constructs 1.6 million tons/year of high-performance resin, 1.2 million tons/year of BDO (1,4-butanediol), 600,000 tons/year of PBAT (degradable material), 400,000 tons/year of spandex new Materials, 100,000 tons/year electronic grade NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone), 300,000 tons/year acetic acid, 100,000 tons/year vinyl acetate and other production equipment, as well as 2×660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation units and related supporting facilities project.

Li Ning, general manager of Shenmu Shenxin New Materials Co., Ltd., said: “The project is a coupling project of coal chemical industry and salt chemical industry. Increasing the new content and green content, producing high-end new materials, and promoting the transformation of low-value-added chemical raw materials into high-value-added fine chemical products have demonstration significance for strengthening and optimizing modern energy industry clusters.”

It is reported that the project will start construction in September 2022. At present, 2×660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation units are being installed, and the conditions for power generation and grid connection will be met by the end of this year. The overall project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2026. After completion, it is expected that the average output value per mu will be 5.67 million yuan, the average tax revenue per mu will be 980,000 yuan, and about 7,300 people will be employed.
