Evonik has launched a new TEGO® Therm customized product line, which can significantly improve the performance of thermal insulation coatings (TIC) to meet sustainable needs. TEGO® The Therm product line consists of two silica-based microporous particle products TEGO® Therm HPG 4000 and TEGO® Therm HPG 6806, and TEGO® Therm L 300, a waterborne resin based on silicone technology.
High performance, sustainable
Three new products from Evonik's coating additives business line have outstanding thermal insulation and heat resistance even at high temperatures of 250°C, and endow coating products with excellent performance and sustainable advantages: based on TEGO® Thermal insulation coatings from Therm products significantly reduce energy loss and significantly reduce the temperature of hot surfaces (safe contact), thereby protecting the health of construction personnel and improving safety during construction. Insulation coatings are also moisture resistant, preventing corrosion inside the insulation (CUI) and greatly extending the life of the coated surface.
As a new generation of thermal insulation coating raw materials, TEGO® Therm is suitable for a variety of thermal insulation requirements, including pipes, tanks or other internal plant facilities. The first TEGO®-based Therm's granular products are commercially available for use in the fields of safe contact and corrosion protection. With this product line, Evonik hopes to offer customers in the building and vehicle manufacturing industries new insulation solutions.
Another advantage of thermal insulation coatings based on TEGO® Therm is the ease of application. TEGO® ThermNew Product Details
TEGO® Therm HPG 4000 granular products have a relatively large particle size of about 300 microns and have extremely low thermal conductivity at high temperatures; while TEGO® Therm HPG The particles of 6806 are finer (particle size about 30 microns), and a higher amount can be added to ensure a smooth surface of the paint. Both granular products provide excellent thermal insulation, provide mechanical stability and hydrophobicity, and their inorganic structure makes the products non-flammable.
The water-based resin TEGO® Therm L 300 can withstand high temperatures of 250°C (standard TIC resin: not higher than 160°C). Thanks to its excellent adhesion effect on various substrates, TEGO® Therm L 300 ensures exceptional toughness of the coating.
Depending on specific application needs, TEGO® Therm products can be used in combination or with other raw materials.
