Heavy! Wanhua Chemical’s 560,000-ton/year chemical project is about to start construction

Recently, Wanhua Chemical (Penglai) Co., Ltd.’s second-phase project of acrylic acid and ester publicized the draft environmental impact report for comments.

It is reported that the project will build a new 160,000-ton/year acrylic acid plant, a 400,000-ton/year butyl acrylate plant, and supporting public works and auxiliary facilities, and will be located in Wanhua Penglai Industrial Park, Penglai Chemical Industrial Park.

Previously, on October 7, 2022, Wanhua Chemical Group held a discussion meeting on the scale adjustment plan of the acrylic acid and ester project. The owner proposed that the scale of the project should be changed from the original one set with an annual production capacity of 160,000 tons to two sets, which will be constructed in two phases. At the same time, it is required that two phases of installations be arranged on the land occupied by the general plan, with simultaneous design, simultaneous construction, and simultaneous start-up.
