On September 18, the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics released data showing that from January to August 2023, the electricity consumption of Hunan society was 154.466 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%.
Among them, industrial electricity consumption was 73.557 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 1.1%; manufacturing electricity consumption was 48.553 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 1.4%.
In August, Hunan’s total electricity consumption was 23.269 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%. Among them, industrial electricity consumption was 10.185 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 3.6%; manufacturing electricity consumption was 6.732 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 6.1%.
From January to August, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 2.248 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 31.8%. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 75.305 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 0.9%. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 32.969 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 8.8%.
In August, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 383 million kilowatt hours, an increase of 1.7%. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 10.442 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 3.0%. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 5.130 billion kilowatt hours, a decrease of 1.5%.
From January to August, the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 43.945 billion kilowatt hours, a decrease of 4.6%. In August, the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 7.314 billion kilowatt hours, a decrease of 19.6%.
