Data released by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association shows that from January to August, my country's steel industry maintained a steady growth trend, with high-end, intelligent, and green levels steadily improving.
Data show that in the first eight months of this year, my country's crude steel, pig iron, and steel production increased by 2.6%, 3.7%, and 6.3% year-on-year respectively, maintaining steady growth. The export of steel products was 58.785 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 28.4%. Since the beginning of this year, as my country's industrial structure continues to adjust, the steel demand structure has changed, driving the pace of transformation of the steel industry to accelerate.
Target new needs and develop new products. Since the beginning of this year, my country's steel companies have focused on promoting R&D and innovation, and the level of high-end, intelligent, and green industries has steadily improved.
In the first half of this year, seven products including Baosteel's ultra-high-strength steel plates made their global debut, mainly used in collision safety components such as automotive reinforcements and anti-collision parts. The heavy-duty wheel with the world's largest axle load recently rolled off the production line at Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. The entire wheel manufacturing process has been implemented in a green manner, reducing carbon emissions by more than 20%.
In the next step, with the implementation of the "Work Plan for Steady Growth of the Steel Industry" issued by the state, the demand for steel may recover elastically from September to December, the contradiction between supply and demand is expected to improve, and the structure of the steel industry will be further optimized.
