China’s warehousing index in September was 53.5%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points from the previous month, remaining in the expansion range for eight consecutive months. The increase in September was more obvious and reached the highest level since May this year, indicating that the warehousing industry maintains a rapid development level.
Among the sub-indexes, indices such as business profits, ending inventory, and business activity expectations have all rebounded, indicating that warehousing companies have improved their profitability, are more enthusiastic about replenishing warehouses, and are more optimistic about future expectations.
Judging from the quarterly average of the warehousing index, the first three quarters are on an upward trend as a whole, with the average in the third quarter reaching 52.6%, and the recovery speed at the end of the quarter has accelerated, and the industry continues to develop well.
Experts said that in the fourth quarter, as the economy maintained a stable recovery trend, both supply and demand rebounded for the better, and the effects of various policies further emerged. In addition, e-commerce promotions and other activities boosted demand for warehousing, and the warehousing industry is expected to continue to improve. development trend.
Demand growth is good and facility utilization has increased significantly
From the perspective of demand, the relevant indices reflecting business demand are all in a relatively high expansion range, showing that the business demand in the warehousing market is showing a significant growth trend, and the facility utilization level has increased significantly.
In September, the business volume index was 56.2%, an increase of 3.7 percentage points from the previous month, reaching the highest point in the past five months; the new order index was 55.2%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points from the previous month. The warehousing market is operating well and business demand is showing significant growth. In addition, the facility utilization index in September was 56.2%, an increase of 5.3 percentage points from the previous month, reaching the highest point in the past seven months.
In terms of categories, the business volume of consumer goods and facility utilization have increased significantly, especially food, clothing, textiles and daily necessities. Due to the arrival of the peak construction season for bulk commodities, the business volume of steel, building materials, machinery and equipment and other categories has increased significantly. There is also a significant recovery compared with the previous period.
