According to the Ningbo City Important Production Materials Market Monitoring System, in August 2023, the average price of coal in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province was 935.13 yuan/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 0.8%, and the decline tightened by 8 percentage points month-on-month. Among them, bituminous coal was 855.25 yuan/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 0.4%; anthracite coal was 1,015 yuan/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 1.2%. There were many high-temperature days in August, and the daily consumption of power plants in Ningbo increased. The inventory fell, and the number of days available for coal storage decreased, which played a supporting role in coal prices that month. Entering September, as the temperature drops and the peak summer season is coming to an end, demand from non-power enterprises is limited and civilian electricity load is falling. It is generally expected that the coal market demand will weaken in the later period, and downstream procurement will mainly focus on Changxie coal, and coal prices may fluctuate and adjust.
