It is understood that: Melamine cyanurate (MCA) is a salt synthesized from melamine and cyanuric acid. It is a nitrogen series flame retardant and is available in powder and granular forms. Two forms, odorless, melting point is about 350°C. MCA has good dispersion and lubricity, and has little impact on the processing properties and physical and mechanical properties of the polymer. When the flame-retardant polyamide foam of this product is burned, the carbon foam layer formed protects the polymer and insulates heat and oxygen. With the addition of this product, the smoke density and toxic gases of the polymer can be greatly reduced without producing irritating hydrogen halide gas.
The application scope and function of melamine cyanurate (MCA) as an additive:
1. As a flame retardant, it can be used in low-smoke halogen-free cable materials, thermoplastic elastomers, PA pipe materials, EVA heat shrinkable pipe materials, fabric coatings, silicone rubber, nylon phenolic resin, epoxy resin, polyethylene resin , acrylic, etc. As a halogen-free flame retardant suitable for nylon, melamine cyanurate is especially suitable for use in two pure nylons, nylon 6 and nylon 66, allowing them to easily achieve the flame retardant effect of UL 94 V-0; it has extremely low Application, superior electrical properties, mechanical properties and coloring properties and other advantages.
2. The coating film can be used as an anti-rust lubricating film, a film agent for steel wire drawing and stamping, and a lubricating film for ordinary mechanical transmission parts. Used in vinyl acetate emulsion, acrylic emulsion and rubber emulsion, it can be made into flame retardant coatings with excellent film adhesion and smoothness.
3. In the electroplating process, adding melamine cyanurate to nylon plastic can improve adhesion, bonding, heat resistance, etc.
4. Melamine cyanurate can be used as one of the raw material additives for water-based lubricants, lubricants, and solid lubricants due to its lubrication and wear resistance.
5. In fine chemicals, such as cosmetics, it can produce better viscosity, density, and lubrication, and has a significant effect on the surface of the skin.
6. It can be used as a matting agent for coatings. It has good adhesion to resin and is not easy to fall off and cause pollution. Its effect as a matting agent for chemical fibers is better than titanium dioxide and silica gel.
