According to foreign news on October 18, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released a report on Wednesday showing that U.S. crude oil, gasoline and distillate inventories fell last week.
EIA data showed that U.S. crude oil inventories fell by 4.5 million barrels to 419.7 million barrels in the week ended October 13, while market estimates were for a decrease of 300,000 barrels.
EIA reported that crude oil inventories in Cushing, Oklahoma, the delivery place for NYMEX crude oil futures, decreased by 758,000 barrels.
The report showed that the crude oil processing volume of refineries increased by 193,000 barrels per day that week. Refinery capacity utilization increased 0.4% from the previous week.
EIA data showed that U.S. gasoline inventories fell by 2.4 million barrels in the week to October 13 to 223.3 million barrels, while market estimates were for a decrease of 1.1 million barrels.
Inventories of distillates, including diesel and heating oil, fell by 3.2 million barrels to 113.8 million barrels during the week, compared with market expectations for a decrease of 1.4 million barrels.
EIA data showed that U.S. net crude oil imports fell by 2.62 million barrels per day that week.
