According to the National Bureau of Statistics on August 15, in July, the production of industrial raw coal, crude oil, natural gas, and electric power above designated size all maintained growth. Compared with June, the growth rate of raw coal, natural gas, and electric power production accelerated, and crude oil maintained a steady growth.
1. Raw coal, crude oil and natural gas production and related conditions
The growth rate of raw coal production has accelerated, and the decline in imports has narrowed. In July, 370 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, and the growth rate was 0.8 percentage points faster than the previous month, with an average daily output of 12.02 million tons. Imported coal was 23.52 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 22.1%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 10.9 percentage points from the previous month.
From January to July, 2.56 billion tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%. Imported coal was 138.52 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.2%.
Crude oil production increased steadily, while the decline in imports narrowed slightly. In July, 17.13 million tons of crude oil were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%, and the growth rate slowed down by 0.6 percentage points from the previous month, with an average daily output of 552,000 tons. Imported crude oil was 37.33 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.5%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 1.1 percentage points from the previous month.
From January to July, 120 million tons of crude oil were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Imported crude oil was 289.84 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.0%.
The decline in crude oil processing volume narrowed. In July, 53.21 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, with an average daily processing of 1.716 million tons. From January to July, 380.27 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%.
The growth rate of natural gas production accelerated, while the decline in imports narrowed. In July, the production of natural gas was 17.1 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%, and the growth rate was 7.8 percentage points faster than that of the previous month, with an average daily output of 550 million cubic meters. Imported natural gas was 8.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.9%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 6.0 percentage points from the previous month.
From January to July, 126.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. Imported natural gas was 62.21 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.6%.
Second, power production
Growth in electricity production accelerated. In July, power generation was 805.9 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%, and the growth rate was 3.0 percentage points faster than the previous month, with an average daily power generation of 26.00 billion kwh. From January to July, the power generation was 4.77 trillion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%.
In terms of varieties, in July, thermal power turned from a decline to an increase, the growth rate of hydropower and wind power slowed down, the decline rate of nuclear power narrowed, and the growth rate of solar power generation accelerated. Among them, thermal power increased by 5.3% year-on-year, a decrease of 6.0% in the previous month; hydropower increased by 2.4%, and the growth rate slowed down by 26.6 percentage points from the previous month; wind power increased by 5.7%, and the growth rate slowed by 11.0 percentage points from the previous month; nuclear power decreased by 3.3% %, the rate of decline narrowed by 5.7 percentage points from the previous month; solar power generation increased by 13.0%, an increase of 3.1 percentage points from the previous month.
