According to the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, in the first half of the year, the national steel output was 536 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%, and the steel output was 677 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, ensuring the steel demand for economic development.
From the perspective of steel consumption structure, in the first half of the year, the proportion of steel used in the construction industry declined, and steel used in ships, automobiles, household appliances, wind power, and photovoltaics continued to grow, effectively supporting the growth of steel types and quantities in the manufacturing industry.
From the perspective of steel exports, in the first half of the year, my country exported 43.58 million tons of steel products, a year-on-year increase of 31.3%.
In the first half of the year, my country's iron and steel industry continued to accelerate green and intelligent transformation. As of the end of June, a total of 87 iron and steel enterprises had completed ultra-low emission transformation. The comparable energy consumption and pollutant emissions per ton of steel in the iron and steel industry continued to decline, and the endogenous driving force for green transformation continued to increase.
