In the first half of this year, my country's light industrial production grew rapidly, and the consumer market recovered steadily. The continuous optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure has strongly supported the steady growth of the industrial economy.
The latest data show that in the first half of this year, the added value of light industries above designated size increased by 0.4% year-on-year, maintaining growth for three consecutive months, of which, in June, it increased by 2.3% year-on-year. On the production side, among the 92 major light industrial products counted by the National Bureau of Statistics, 48 products achieved growth, with a growth rate of 52.2%. On the consumer side, in the first half of the year, the retail sales of 11 categories of light industry commodities were 3,501.2 billion yuan, accounting for 15.4% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.
At the same time, the light industry export market structure is more balanced. From January to May, the export of light industrial commodities to countries along the “Belt and Road” increased by 14.8% year-on-year, and the export to ASEAN increased by 12.6%.
Since the beginning of this year, various localities have continuously introduced policies to promote the upgrading of light industry. In Hebei, the "Thousands of Enterprises Go to the Cloud" project was implemented, and 5G fully connected factories were actively cultivated to help the light industry manufacturing industry transform from large to strong. In Fujian, it is proposed to develop "characteristic light industry" and build multiple 100-billion-level industrial clusters such as electrical appliances, power batteries, and deep processing. Data show that in the first half of this year, the added value of solar cells, mopeds and household appliances increased by 23.3%, 10.7% and 8.4% respectively. The new kinetic energy industry has become an important support for the steady growth of light industry.
