National Bureau of Statistics: GDP grew by 5.5% year-on-year in the first half of the year

The National Bureau of Statistics released China's economic data for the first half of the year. According to preliminary calculations, the GDP in the first half of the year was 59,303.4 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year, 1.0 percentage points faster than the first quarter. In terms of quarters, the GDP in the first quarter increased by 4.5% year-on-year, and in the second quarter by 6.3%. From the quarter-on-quarter perspective, the GDP in the second quarter increased by 0.8%.
