On July 11, Trina Solar announced that the company signed a project investment agreement with the Shifang Municipal People's Government. The company plans to build a production base with an annual output of 13GW of monocrystalline rods and supporting projects in Shifang Economic Development Zone, Sichuan. The total investment of the project is about 5.3 billion yuan (of which, Trina Solar contributed about 4.3 billion yuan).
The announcement stated that the signing of this investment agreement was due to the company's demand for capacity expansion and investment in the construction of an annual output of 13GW single crystal rods and supporting projects. This will help the company take advantage of Shifang's local policies and industrial supporting advantages to further optimize the upstream layout of the industrial chain, lay a solid foundation for future business growth, and enhance the company's comprehensive competitiveness, which is in line with the company's long-term development plan and the interests of all shareholders.
