The latest data shows that in the first five months of 2023, the United States imported a total of 97.77 million tires, a year-on-year decrease of 23.1%. Among them, the import of passenger car tires decreased by 12% year-on-year to 63.15 million; the import of truck and bus tires decreased by 21% year-on-year to 19.44 million; the import of aircraft tires increased by 8% year-on-year to 144,000; million; bicycle tires fell 57% year-on-year to 2.56 million.
From January to May, the United States imported a total of 9.64 million tires from China, a year-on-year decrease of 53%. Among them, passenger car tires fell 21% year-on-year to 990,000; truck and bus tires fell 32% year-on-year to 910,000.
From January to May, the United States imported 19.45 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 21%. Among them, there were 12.47 million passenger car tires, a year-on-year decrease of 16%; truck and bus tires were 5 million, a year-on-year decrease of 31%.
Thailand and China are major importers of American tires.
