The latest data shows that in the first four months of 2023, the United States imported a total of 77.05 million tires, a year-on-year decrease of 21.3%. Among them, the import of passenger car tires decreased by 11% year-on-year to 49.55 million; the import of truck and bus tires decreased by 18% year-on-year to 15.46 million; the import of aircraft tires increased by 10% year-on-year to 114,000; million; bicycle tires fell 53% year-on-year to 2.12 million.
From January to April, the United States imported 7.54 million tires from China, a drop of 52% year-on-year. Among them, passenger car tires decreased by 17% year-on-year to 800,000; truck and bus tires decreased by 26% year-on-year to 750,000.
From January to April, the United States imported 15.26 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 21%. Among them, the number of passenger car tires was 9.79 million, a year-on-year decrease of 16%; the number of truck and bus tires was 3.96 million, a year-on-year decrease of 30%.
Thailand and China are major importers of American tires.
