Foreign news on June 6, data released by the American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday showed that U.S. crude oil inventories decreased last week, while refined oil inventories increased.
Crude inventories fell by about 1.7 million barrels in the week ended June 2. Gasoline inventories rose by about 2.4 million barrels, while distillate inventories rose by about 4.5 million barrels.
Analysts had forecast that crude inventories were expected to rise by about 1 million barrels last week, gasoline inventories rose by about 900,000 barrels and distillate inventories rose by about 1.3 million barrels.
