The two parties reached a strategic cooperation in September 2022 to jointly develop blend modifications based on PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) materials and PLA (polylactic acid) materials, in order to further improve the product performance of current biodegradable materials and promote Industrial upgrading.
In the current field of daily catering packaging, taking paper straws as an example, its characteristics such as easy softening bring poor user experience to consumers. According to both parties, the applications connected this time will be used in the daily catering field, including straws, injection molded tableware and coated paper cups. The newly launched PHA straws have been tested and shown to be able to withstand temperatures above 90 degrees Celsius, effectively filling the gap between similar products. There is a gap in the straw market for hot beverage applications. Hengxin Life is a supplier to many fast-moving consumer brands, such as Luckin Coffee and Heytea.
In addition, in the middle of this year, the green intelligent manufacturing project of a microstructure factory with an annual output of 30,000 tons of synthetic biological PHA degradable materials in Yichang, Hubei Province officially started. The 30,000-ton production line was built by "Hubei Weiqi Biotechnology Co., Ltd.", a joint venture established through strategic cooperation between Microstructure Factory and Angel Yeast, with a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan.
