Base Materials (Leicester, UK) provides innovative technologies for composites manufacturing, including epoxy resin pattern and tooling solutions and solutions for vacuum forming, jigs, fixtures, fiber reinforced polymers ( Polyurethane (PU) patterns and tool plates for FRP) mold making, etc.
Base Materials has further strengthened its range of polyurethane tooling board materials with three new specialist products manufactured at its Leicester factory, including
BP600, a medium-density PU tool material, and two new wear-resistant, high-density PU tool materials BP1200 and BP1700.
“With the increasing demand for more specialized materials, especially for more wear-resistant solutions, we developed and launched BP1200 and BP1700 without hesitation.” John, General Manager of Basic Materials
“The development of BP600 strengthens our existing family of medium-density materials and is designed for a broad range of applications,” Miller said.
Base Materials’ new medium-density BP600 is easy to process, offers a good surface finish, and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) for improved dimensional stability. It is suitable for a wide range of applications including master models and patterns, vacuum forming, thermoforming, automotive models and casting patterns and pattern plates.
BP1200 is a high-density, wear-resistant PU mold material that is easy to process and can be used for vacuum forming, thermoforming and automotive modeling, as well as casting patterns and pattern plates.
BP1700 polyurethane mold material has a high density of 1785 kg/m3, is wear-resistant, and is designed for specialized applications requiring high compressive strength, including vacuum forming, thermoforming, hammer and metal forming, casting pattern and reactive injection molding (RIM ).
Base Materials’ BP600, BP1200 and BP1700 products can be used with compatible adhesives, repair pastes, sealants and release agents.
“These latest additions to our range of PU mold materials follow a recent major investment at our Leicester facility, further strengthening our ability to meet the changing needs of the industries in which we operate. This investment enables us to Our CNC capabilities have doubled, resulting in increased production, and a new production line has been added to support our further expansion of material supply in the future.”
