On March 29, SF Holding released the “Sustainable Development Report 2022”. The report stated that SF Express followed the development trend of green packaging and actively practiced packaging reduction, reuse, recyclability, and degradability In 2022, through green packaging measures, we will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 506,000 tons.
In terms of reduced packaging, in 2022, SF Express will continue to implement the “Fengjing Plan” to reduce, standardize, and scene-based innovative research and development on 8 categories of materials such as plastic bags, adhesive tapes, stickers, and seals. Reduction, foldable and other means to reduce plastic consumption. In 2022, the use of base paper will be reduced by about 47,000 tons, and the use of plastics will be reduced by about 150,000 tons. Through packaging reduction measures, a total of about 150,000 tons of carbon emissions will be reduced in 2022.
In terms of recyclable packaging, SF Express has put into use mature products such as confidential transport boxes, aviation-container temperature-controlled boxes, fragile goods recycling transfer boxes, food recycling incubators, and medical recycling coaming boxes for different industries and scenarios, effectively solving the problem of The problems of traditional packaging and containers, such as high cost, frequent damage, low operating efficiency, and waste of resources, have been solved. In 2022, the recycle box will be used more than 32 million times, contributing 13,000 tons of carbon emission reduction.
In terms of degradable packaging, SF Express continues to carry out the research and development of biodegradable packaging materials, and actively makes technical reserves for biodegradable packaging. The fully degradable packaging bag “Feng Xiaobao” independently developed by the company has been promoted and applied nationwide, and the biodegradation rate can reach more than 90%. As of the end of the reporting period, more than 62.51 million “Feng Xiaobao” have been released in Beijing, Guangzhou and other places. According to this estimate, 62.51 million “feng pouches” will consume about 1,400 tons of PBAT. Based on SF Express’s market share of about 30% in the country, the actual consumption of degradable express bags nationwide last year was about 5,000 tons of PBAT.
In addition, SF Express also carried out pilot work on various biodegradable packaging materials, including degradable environmental protection tapes, degradable cushioning materials, etc., to gradually reduce the use of disposable non-degradable plastics, fulfill environmental protection responsibilities, and practice sustainable green packaging.
Based on the 2030 carbon reduction target, SF Express has formulated phased targets, and collaborated with various business modules to help achieve the carbon target. In terms of green transportation, it is estimated that 2,000 new energy vehicles will be added to transport capacity in 2023; in terms of clean energy, the clean energy power generation of the industrial park is expected to reach 40 million kWh in 2023. In terms of green packaging, it is estimated that 88,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced through packaging reduction measures in 2023 (about 150,000 tons of carbon emissions will be reduced through reduction measures in 2022).
