The panels are compression molded using Teijin Automotive Technology’s TCA Ultra Lite material, which is 43% lighter than conventional composite materials.
Teijin Automotive Technology’s Ultra Lite uses a proprietary treated glass bubble to replace part of the calcium carbonate
, enabling the resin to adhere to the substrate and increasing the interfacial strength between the bubble and the resin. This treatment technique produces a stronger resin mixture that makes molded parts more resistant to handling damage; prevents microcracks that cause paint pops, pits, and blisters; and improves paint adhesion and bonding characteristics.
TCA Ultra

All exterior panels offered by Emira come with a conductive primer, while the interior tailgate panel has a black textured finish. All components are produced at the Teijin Automotive Technology plant in Portugal.
