Therefore, the development and application of new biodegradable mulch films has become a research hotspot, but there is no report on the degradation of PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch films and its effect on tomato quality in solar greenhouses.

This study applied the new biodegradable mulch film to tomato cultivation. The researchers found that PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch (thickness 10 μm) after being covered in the field for 131 days, its degradation degree reached level 2, and its weight loss rate reached 52.74% when buried for 160 days. In addition, the surface of the used PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch showed an obvious loose and porous structure. The content of humic acid precipitated in the solution of PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable film before use is 128.50 mg/L, the content of humic acid precipitated after use was reduced to 51.00mg/L.

The study found that compared with PE and PBAT/PLA lignin biodegradable mulch, PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch can significantly improve soil electrical conductivity and organic matter content, and the relative abundance of soil fungi also increased. Tomato yield, soluble solids, vitamin C after covered with PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch compared with PE mulch ( Vc ), soluble sugar and lycopene were significantly increased, and total acid and hardness were significantly decreased.

Therefore, in the cultivation of tomatoes in autumn and winter in the solar greenhouse, the PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable film (thickness 10 μm) can not only improve quality and increase production, but also effectively reduce the problem of "white pollution", laying the foundation for further promoting the application of biodegradable plastic film in tomato production in solar greenhouses and the reduction and substitution of polyethylene.
