On April 19, Huayang New Materials Group announced that the biodegradable new material company successfully produced PBAT masterbatch, marking the success of the trial production of the 60,000-ton PBAT project.
In the next step, the biodegradable new material company will focus on the status of the equipment, increase the operating load of the equipment, and ensure that the PBAT production equipment can achieve stable, long-term, full and optimal operation.
Project Overview
On August 10, 2021, the 60,000-ton/year PBAT biodegradable new material and 20,000-ton/year biodegradable plastic products project of Shanxi Huayang New Materials Co., Ltd. started construction in Longchuan Industrial Park, Pingding Economic and Technological Development Zone, Yangquan City . The project adopts the unique patented technology of Zhongke Qicheng Company of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with an investment of 400 million yuan.
PBAT is currently one of the main raw materials for biodegradable plastics and has broad market prospects. After the completion of the project, Huayang Group will become the largest manufacturer of biodegradable raw materials and terminal plastic products in North China. In the next step, Huayang Group will also plan to build a park with an integrated upstream and downstream industrial chain of more than 500,000 tons per year, and build the largest production base of biodegradable materials in the country.
According to the data, Huayang New Materials was formerly known as Taihua Co., Ltd., which was successfully listed as early as 2000. The controlling shareholder was Taihua Group. It was previously managed by the Yuanyang Coal Group. The establishment of Taihua Co., Ltd. was positioned as Huayang Group’s new material business asset integration and listing platform, and Taihua Co., Ltd. was renamed today’s Huayang New Materials.
Since then, in order to support the accelerated transformation of listed companies, Huayang Group has promoted Huayang New Materials to acquire important new material assets such as airgel and graphene in advance, and then in August 2021, the group will enter the core project of biodegradable plastics—— The project of 60,000 tons/year PBAT biodegradable new materials and 20,000 tons/year biodegradable plastic products will be led by Huayang New Materials.
