According to data released on the official website of the National Medical Insurance Administration, from January to March 2023, the total income of the basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) was 910.048 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. Among them, the employee basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) income was 565.307 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15%. The income of basic medical insurance funds for urban and rural residents was 344.741 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
From January to March 2023, the total expenditure of basic medical insurance funds (including maternity insurance) was 557.745 billion yuan, an increase of 21.7% year-on-year, and the expenditure of basic medical insurance funds (including maternity insurance) for employees was 358.521 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%. The maternity insurance fund benefit expenditure was 24.76 billion yuan. The basic medical insurance fund expenditure for urban and rural residents was 199.225 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%.
