The latest data shows that in the first quarter of 2023, the United States imported a total of 56.08 million tires, a year-on-year decrease of 20.7%. Among them, the import of passenger car tires decreased by 10.5% year-on-year to 36.16 million; the import of truck and bus tires decreased by 14.2% year-on-year to 11.49 million; the import of aircraft tires increased by 5.5% year-on-year to 82,000; million; bicycle tires fell 49% year-on-year to 1.58 million.
From January to March, the United States imported 5.2 million tires from China, a year-on-year decrease of 54%. Among them, passenger car tires decreased by 17% year-on-year to 570,000; truck and bus tires decreased by 10% year-on-year to 560,000.
From January to March, the United States imported 10.88 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 23%. Among them, the number of passenger car tires was 6.93 million, a year-on-year decrease of 20%; the number of truck and bus tires was 2.97 million, a year-on-year decrease of 27%.
Thailand and China are major importers of American tires.
