Massachusetts-based CAI Performance Additives has recently launched two new anti-hydrolysis additives for nylon, polyester, and others in automotive, industrial, and medical products that are likely to be exposed to moisture and polyurethane. The company is the sole North American distributor of China Star Beta Chemical Co., Ltd., which manufactures a broad portfolio of high-performance additives.
Proprietary anti-hydrolysis additives ST-HT10 and ST-HT13 are reported to have long-term durability due to their superior resistance to hydrolytic damage. ST-HT10 is a higher performance polymer version, while ST-HT13 is a monomeric version based on the same chemistry. ST-HT10 showed excellent protection over 60 days in nylon without degradation. Richard, CEO of CAI Performance Additives
“These data show the effectiveness of this additive,” Marshall said. “Water resistance is important to many products and we want to give our customers hydrolysis resistance they can rely on.”
In addition, the addition amount of ST-HT10 and ST-HT13 is extremely low, about 0.3%.
