Evonik announced that it has invested in Hefei Haizhou Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (“Haizhou Advanced Materials”), a Chinese battery materials company, through its venture capital arm. The company is a leader in graphene material technology, which can improve the range, stability, charging speed and service life of lithium-ion batteries, thereby helping the development of the electric vehicle industry and promoting low-carbon transportation.

By adding graphene, the electrode paste can be made highly conductive and thermally conductive, resulting in faster charging and improved battery performance; at the same time, the battery is less sensitive to temperature, reducing cooling needs and fire risks.
