On August 23, Zhongtai Chemical released its 2023 semi-annual report stating that in the first half of this year, the company achieved operating income of 20.442 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 30.35%; realized net profit attributable to the parent company of -951 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 183.04%. Among them, in the second quarter of this year, the company realized operating income of 9.735 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 32.13%; realized net profit attributable to the parent company of -629 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 189.49%.

According to the semi-annual report, in the face of the complex and changeable economic situation, extreme weather and many other impacts such as price fluctuations of bulk goods, Zhongtai Chemical insists on looking for and seizing market opportunities externally, strictly grasps internal control management internally, and strives to improve business performance. During the reporting period, the company produced a total of 946,400 tons of polyvinyl chloride resin (paste-containing resin), 713,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda (including self-consumption), 284,500 tons of viscose fiber, 169,500 tons of viscose yarn, and 1,448,900 tons of calcium carbide. Power generation 6.688 billion kWh.

Zhongtai Chemical stated that during the reporting period, the progress of Xinjiang Jinhui Zhaofeng Energy Co., Ltd.’s project with an annual output of 750,000 tons of calcium carbide was 98.00%; Xinjiang Zhongtai Jinhui Technology Co., Ltd. The progress of the comprehensive utilization of resources and comprehensive utilization of methanol production demonstration project of New Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. is 19.26%.
