The first in China! BDO Industrial Technology Innovation Center was inaugurated in Wuhai and started construction

On August 16, the first BDO Industrial Technology Innovation Center in China was inaugurated in Wuda Industrial Park, Wuhai City.

Under the background of thoroughly implementing the "Prosper Mongolia with Science and Technology" action and improving the ability of technological innovation, Wuhai City is taking an important step to build the first BDO industrial technology innovation center in China. This initiative aims to break through the bottleneck of the downstream application of the BDO industry, build a world-class BDO industry innovation and ecological system, and inject new vitality into the construction of national high-tech zones. The technology innovation center will focus on the application of BDO products in industry and daily life, acetylene chemical industry, bio-based materials, environment-friendly polymer materials, hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing and other fields to carry out innovation and research.

Wuhai City will adhere to high-standard positioning, actively integrate innovative resources such as engineering research centers and enterprise technology centers, establish a flexible and efficient operating mechanism, and devote itself to promoting key technology research and development, transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, and strive to create a deep integration of industry, education, research and application. The innovation chain, industrial chain, and value chain will comprehensively improve the technological level and core competitiveness of the BDO industry.

As an important organic and fine chemical raw material, BDO is widely used in the fields of medicine, chemical industry, textile, papermaking, automobile and daily chemical industry, so it is also called chemical masterbatch. Extending down, BDO can be used as an important raw material for degradable plastics, lithium batteries, and high-grade aerospace products. It is a green chemical product encouraged by the state.

In recent years, Wuhai City has taken the initiative to integrate into the construction of the country's important energy and strategic resource bases, and accurately grasped the policy opportunity of "supporting Wuhai to build a coal-based biodegradable material industry base" in the autonomous region. Based on the endowment of 20 billion tons of limestone resources, relying on Strong industrial foundation advantages such as 10,000 tons of calcium carbide, 17.63 million tons of coke production capacity, and a large amount of coke oven gas that can be used efficiently. The largest single BDO production base, it is estimated that by 2025, the BDO production capacity will reach more than 2.5 million tons, accounting for more than 20% of the country's total production capacity, becoming the world's largest BDO integrated production base.
