Covestro’s Baymedix Polyurethane Solutions Bring Good News to Pain and Injury Patients

Covestro, formerly Bayer MaterialScience, presented its innovative Baymedix polyurethane technology for modern wound dressings at the EWMA conference in Bremerhaven, Germany, from May 11 to 13. Foams, adhesives and films for the production of wound dressings and special films for the production of Platilon brand products make wound dressings more breathable and dry, improving the quality of patient care.

If Baymedix and Platilon materials can be used in a reasonable combination, modern wound dressings can be effectively and continuously produced in only three parts. The adhesive or foam is applied directly to the film eliminating the lamination step. Wound dressings with polyurethane technology from Covestro are also suitable for advanced negative pressure wound therapy.
