A new type of polyurethane acrylate structural adhesive for ships

Scott Bader developed Crystic Crestomer 1152 urethane acrylate structural adhesive for British Navy minesweepers, especially CTruk Boats' offshore wind farm support vessels.

Utilizing hybrid structural resins can reduce weight by 40% compared to traditional aluminum workboats. CTruk-built boats utilize Crestomer 1152 to bond hull stringers and walls, transoms, engine mounts and hull panel seams, including the main deck girders, although this is more susceptible to high impact.

Crystic 621 is a new polyester urethane acrylate adhesive uniquely formulated with a blend of polyesters that offers high performance, cost-effectiveness and easy application with a putty gun. In addition, with this adhesive, gels and paints can be applied to the roof of a boat without additional processing work.
