The ring pipe method technology is considered to be one of the most ideal production methods for polypropylene. Over the years, my country's self-developed ring pipe method polypropylene production technology has been continuously improved and upgraded. The third-generation ring pipe polypropylene complete technology project is led by Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., and jointly developed by Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, Wuhan Petrochemical and Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical. Based on the self-developed catalyst, asymmetric external electron donor technology and binary random copolymerization technology of propylene and butylene, the technology is integrated with the second-generation ring-tube polypropylene technology, focusing on solving the reaction process, engineering scale-up and equipment Technical problems such as localization.
The project team developed a 350,000-ton/year third-generation polypropylene ring-pipe technology package, perfected the production technology for serialized high-performance products, and made the ring-pipe polypropylene technology not only produce high-performance BOPP, high-melting Body-strength polypropylene, PPH pipe material, high-melt index impact polypropylene, transparent polypropylene and other new products with excellent performance, and the main performance indicators of the product are superior to similar products, reaching the international leading level, with high added value and market prospects.
It is reported that Wuhan Petrochemical and Shijiazhuang Refining and Chemical have respectively built 200,000 tons/year polypropylene industrialization units using the third-generation ring pipe method polypropylene complete set technology. Among them, Wuhan Petrochemical's 200,000-ton/year polypropylene plant was completed and put into operation on July 12 last year. Through the introduction of asymmetric external electron donor technology and a series of innovative grades of homopolypropylene, the device has realized the industrial production of new homopolymerization processes and products in the third-generation ring-pipe polypropylene technology. The 200,000-ton/year polypropylene unit of Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. started production on August 20, and the first calibration was carried out on October 28. By introducing asymmetric external electron donor technology and acrylonitrile-butadiene binary random copolymerization technology, the device has realized the technological innovation of the third-generation loop method polypropylene technology and the industrial production of new products.

On this basis, at the beginning of 2002, Shanghai Petrochemical, Sinopec Engineering Construction Corporation and Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry jointly developed a 200,000-ton/year domestically produced second-generation ring pipe polypropylene complete set of technology, and Shanghai Petrochemical used this technology to build a A world-class polypropylene industrial production facility with an annual output of 200,000 tons. Since then, the third-generation ring-pipe polypropylene complete set of technology has once again been included in Sinopec's "Ten Dragons" research projects. In February 2012, the 200,000-ton/year third-generation ring-pipe polypropylene process package was successfully developed. In July 2013, the polypropylene unit constructed by Wuhan Petrochemical using the third-generation ring-pipe polypropylene complete set of technology was put into operation.
