One. China’s export of polymeric MDI to India from January to October 2018
From January to October 2018, China exported about 32,000 tons of polymerized MDI to India, basically the same as last year, accounting for China’s Polymeric MDI accounted for 6% of the total export volume, a decrease of one percentage point compared with last year. Among them, April and May showed a relatively large decrease compared with the same period last year. On the one hand, due to the approaching rainy season in India, the demand began to decrease, and on the other hand, due to the adjustment of manufacturers’ market strategies and the selection of local Indian buyers. In August and September, the year-on-year growth was relatively large, mainly because the traditional off-season was coming to an end, and some downstream manufacturers began to stock up.
Two. Japan’s export of polymeric MDI to India from January to October 2018
From January to October 2018, Japan exported about 16,000 tons of polymerized MDI to India, a year-on-year increase of 16%, accounting for the total export volume 9%. In 2018, Japan’s polymeric MDI performed well in the Indian market. Except for a year-on-year reduction of nearly half in August, other months were basically the same as the same period last year remain flat or increase significantly. Especially in April and July, sales doubled compared to last year. This is mainly related to Tosoh’s strategy. In recent years, Tosoh has placed its main MDI sales growth points in India, Southeast Asia and the United States, and has made full use of the advantages of Tosoh’s Indian branch to expand the market.
3. Exports of polymeric MDI from South Korea to India from January to October 2018
From January to October 2018, South Korea exported 32,000 tons of polymerized MDI to India, a year-on-year increase of 9%, accounting for 16%. At the end of 2017, after Kumho Mitsui expanded its production, it increased its investment in the Indian market. Especially in March, April and October, the export volume has increased significantly year-on-year.
4. Exports of polymeric MDI from China, Japan and South Korea to India from January to October 2018
From January to October 2018, China, Japan and South Korea exported a total of 80,000 tons of polymerized MDI to India, a year-on-year increase of 7 %, accounting for about 9% of the total export volume of the three countries, it can be said to be one of the largest markets for polymerized MDI in China, Japan and Korea, and The growth rate of its demand is also higher than that of many countries and regions, and the future consumption growth rate is expected to be maintained at around 7-10%. Among the three countries, China and South Korea each account for 40% of the share, and Japan’s share is lower than the other two countries because of its low production capacity. After South Korea’s Kumho Mitsui expanded its production at the end of 2017, its export volume increased in 2018, and its share in the Indian market increased.
Although the global economic growth is slowing down, it is expected that in 2019, there will still be demand for polymeric MDI in India growth of more than 5%. In the middle and late February, the demand for polymeric MDI will pick up, and the demand in the Indian market will increase before the rainy season in June.
