Aggregated MDI export:
According to China Customs data, in June 2023, China’s aggregated MDI export volume was 88,977 tons, A month-on-month decrease of 18.7% and a year-on-year decrease of 23.9%. From January to June 2023, China’s cumulative export volume of polymeric MDI was 607,158 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2% compared to January to June last year.
In terms of export prices, the average export price of polymeric MDI in June was US$1,645/ton , fell 1.0% month-on-month, and the decline narrowed; excluding exchange rate fluctuations, the average export price of RMB for the month was 11,469 yuan/ton, a slight increase of 0.4% from the average price of RMB in May. On the whole, in the first half of this year, due to the weakening demand in many places at home and abroad, export prices were weak and low.

In terms of regions, in the first half of the year, the United States was the largest export destination of China’s aggregated MDI , the cumulative export volume of polymeric MDI from China to the United States was 143,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%. In addition, during the same period, the total weight of polymeric MDI imported from China by countries along the “Belt and Road” was 238,000 tons (accounting for 65.4% of the total export weight), a year-on-year increase of 24.4%. (Countries along the “Belt and Road”: As of January 6, 2023, China has signed more than 200 cooperation documents on the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” with 151 countries and 32 international organizations. Polymer MDI import:
According to China Customs data, in June 2023, China’s polymeric MDI (including MDI mother liquor) The import volume was 17,973 tons, a decrease of 22.5% month-on-month and an increase of 17.8% year-on-year. From January to June 2023, China’s cumulative import of polymeric MDI was 138,638 tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.0% compared to January to June last year.
