In 2021, the export of home appliances in China continued the substantial growth in the second half of 2020. From January to March, the export was 27.49 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 67.6%; compared with the export value of the same period in 2019, it also increased by 46.1%. Far exceeding the historical level of the same period.

In the first quarter, the increase in export volume of products related to home anti-epidemic and structural innovation was more prominent: the increase in home demand drove bread machines (export volume increased by 84.9% year-on-year, the same below), electric ovens (112.5%), electric kitchen utensils (105.8%), mixers (98%), refrigerators (75%) and other products have increased significantly; vacuum cleaners (84.4%), dry cleaning machines (2892.6%), dishwashers (70.3%), air purifiers (170.7%) Products such as water purifiers (87.3%), humidifiers (92.3%) and electric frying pans (110.1%) have accelerated innovation in product structure in recent years, while catering to consumption concepts such as anti-epidemic and health, and the export of many types of products has doubled; While air conditioners (19.9%), electric irons (14%) and hand dryers (18.9%), which are highly related to outdoor travel and business, also resumed growth, but the growth rates were relatively low.

From January to March, the key export markets of home appliances are on the rise, with 80% of the export markets showing a growth trend. Among them, exports to nearly 50 countries have achieved double growth. Europe and the United States are still the main sources of growth, and exports to Europe and North America have increased significantly, 72.7% and 114.3% respectively.

At present and in the first half of the year, the two major driving forces supporting the growth of home appliance exports will continue: First, under the epidemic, consumer demand in overseas markets such as Europe and the United States has increased significantly compared with the previous year, and consumer confidence in major markets has gradually recovered. The consumer confidence index has returned to 50 from the lowest point of 37 in May last year, the EU has recovered from -22 to -12, and the import demand of major markets has increased significantly (the import of home appliances in the United States increased by 28.7% year-on-year in January-February 2021, and France increased by 18% , Japan increased by 23.9%, the UK increased by 15.8%, and South Korea increased by 24.8%). Second, China's supply chain has obvious advantages, and its production capacity is more sufficient than other production areas. According to the survey conducted by the Chamber of Commerce of Machinery and Electronics, in the first half of the year, enterprises had sufficient orders in hand, and the orders of most enterprises exceeded historical highs, and the orders of some enterprises have already been placed in the third quarter.
