On April 30, Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry (referred to as "Beihua Institute") Tianjin Scientific Experiment Base started construction in Binhai New Area. The project is Sinopec's strategic plan to build "the world's leading clean energy chemical company", and it is also an important support for Tianjin Petrochemical to build a world-leading technology-led refining and chemical integration base. Beihua Institute is the earliest professional scientific research institution engaged in comprehensive petrochemical research in my country and has a world-class level. As Sinopec's refining and chemical company in Tianjin, Tianjin Petrochemical actively integrates into the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, closely follows Tianjin's functional positioning of building a national advanced manufacturing R&D base, anchors the development positioning of "building Sinopec's high-end new material technology R&D base", and implements industrial Empowerment and advantage reconstruction.

Based on this, the two sides deepened practical cooperation in the field of scientific research, and the institute and enterprise joined hands to build an innovation consortium. Relying on the "innovation-driven strategic fulcrum" of the Tianjin base, they worked together to create a new form of "factory in front and backyard" combining production and research, providing the whole industry with A test site for incubating mature technologies, helping Sinopec's synthetic materials industry chain and value chain to move towards the mid-to-high end, and promoting Tianjin Petrochemical to become a new profit growth pole of Sinopec and a new engine that stimulates regional economic development.

The reporter learned that the Tianjin Scientific Test Base of Beihua Institute is adjacent to the Tianjin Petrochemical Plant, and plans to build it in two phases. The first phase will focus on the construction of a polyolefin pilot test center, including 10 sets of polyolefin polymerization pilot plants and 3 sets of polyolefin catalysts. Pilot plant, 1 set of special elastomer pilot plant; the second phase of construction includes chemical process strengthening center, ethylene technology center, fine chemical technology center, environmental protection technology center, etc. According to the construction period, it is estimated that by 2022, the main facilities of the first phase of the project will be put into use.
