Invest 30 billion! Including PO, EO, etc., Guangdong large-scale refining and chemical transformation project publicity

A few days ago, the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the “Notice on the Transformation and Upgrading of Oil Refining of Maoming Branch of China Petrochemical Corporation and the Pre-approval of Ethylene Quality Improvement Project”.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is 30,074.03 million yuan. It is located in Maoming High-tech Industrial Park and Maonan Petrochemical Industrial Park. The construction period is 36 months, and it will be constructed by Maoming Petrochemical.

The project plans to carry out adaptive transformation of the refining part without adding new refining capacity, phase out the existing 360,000 tons/year ethylene device, and build a new 1 million tons/year ethylene and downstream deep processing device.

Previously, on April 1, 2021, the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau announced its review opinions on the energy-saving report of the “Refining Transformation and Upgrading and Ethylene Quality Improvement Project of Maoming Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation”. The main construction contents of the announcement include: rebuilding a 3 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, supporting alkylation, MTBE, distillate oil hydrogenation, environmental protection rubber oil and waxy oil hydrogenation and other devices; increasing the ethylene production capacity from 1 million tons/year Annual increase to 1.64 million tons/year, supporting the construction of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, butadiene extraction, aromatics extraction and other devices; construction of FDPE (full density polyethylene), EO (ethylene oxide), PP (polypropylene) , PO (propylene oxide), ABS and other devices.
