BASF and the scientific and technological innovation enterprise Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center established a joint research center in Liyang City, Jiangsu Province today.

The “BASF-Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center Joint Research Center for New Energy Vehicles and Energy Storage” aims to accelerate the innovation of advanced materials and solutions in the fields of electric vehicles and energy storage.

According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate on materials and solutions for batteries and battery packs, focusing on solid-state batteries and sodium-ion batteries. These are widely expected to play an important role in the next generation of electric vehicles and energy storage.

At the same time, the two parties will also give full play to their R&D digital capabilities to improve innovation efficiency. Relying on Liyang’s high-quality new energy industry cluster, the joint research center will collaborate with Liyang’s upstream and downstream partners to innovate, integrate the advantages of all parties, and accelerate the speed from research and development to the market.
