Invest 630 million! Wanhua Chemical’s 50,000 tons/year waterborne polyurethane and other projects have been put into production

On June 14, the People’s Government of Beilun District, Ningbo City announced that the project of Wanhua Chemical (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 50,000 tons of water-based resin was completed and put into operation smoothly.

It is understood that the total investment of the project is 630 million yuan (including public and auxiliary projects), and the main construction is 33,000 tons/year of water-based polyurethane, 15,000 tons/year of epoxy resin, 2,000 tons/year of carbomer equipment and supporting facilities. After the project is put into production, it is expected to realize an annual output value of 950 million yuan.

As a new type of resin system, water-based resin uses water instead of organic solvent as the dispersion medium, and can be widely used in adhesives, coatings, fabric coating and finishing agents, leather finishing agents and other fields. Among water-based resins, water-based polyurethane is a representative of excellent resins and one of the hotspots of modern water-based resin research. With the strengthening of people’s awareness of environmental protection and environmental protection laws and regulations, the research and development of environmentally friendly water-based polyurethane has been paid more and more attention, and the market space and product competitiveness of water-based polyurethane will increase day by day.

As the earliest enterprise in China to independently develop all-water-based coating resins, Wanhua Chemical relies on its independent research and development advantages and uses independent high-quality aromatic isocyanates as raw materials. The products are of high quality and occupy a huge advantage in the main consumer markets in East China and South China. The project uses the existing isocyanate and polyol of Wanhua Chemical as the main raw materials, and cooperates with advanced synthesis technology to obtain safe, environmentally friendly, mature and stable water-based polyurethane and water-based epoxy products. The product categories cover architectural coatings, metal anti-corrosion coatings, In fields such as wood coatings and leather finishing agents, the annual demand growth rate is about 7.5%.
