According to customs statistics, China's import and export to South Africa will be 377.13 billion yuan in 2022, an increase of 8.6% over the previous year; 19.9% of the total value of imports and exports to Africa, driving the overall growth of China's imports and exports to Africa by 2 percentage points. During the same period, Nigeria and Angola were China's second and third largest trading partners in Africa. In the first seven months, China's imports and exports to Nigeria and Angola were 95.29 billion and 82.63 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 8.4% and 7.3% of China-Africa trade.

In the first seven months, China exported 709.59 billion yuan to Africa, an increase of 20%. Among them, the export of mechanical and electrical products was 355.16 billion yuan, an increase of 32.5%, accounting for 50.1% of China's total exports to Africa during the same period, driving the overall growth of exports to Africa by 14.7 percentage points; exports of ships and automobiles were 24.39 billion yuan and 19.42 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 81.3 %, 26.1%. During the same period, the export of labor-intensive products to Africa was 169.92 billion yuan, an increase of 18.1%, accounting for 23.9%, and the export of clothing and clothing accessories, shoes and boots increased by 32.6% and 27.1% respectively.

In the first seven months, China imported 426.65 billion yuan from Africa. Over the same period, imports of non-agricultural products were 23.66 billion yuan, an increase of 20%, accounting for 5.5%, of which imports of aquatic products and wine increased by 94.7% and 52.6% respectively.
