● Thermoplastic Polyurethane in China and Taiwan (TPU) device is certified by International Sustainability and Carbon (ISCC PLUS)
● Help clients achieve their sustainability goals and make progress on their green journey
BASF continues its commitment to helping customers achieve their sustainability goals and advance their green journey by launching more site certifications that validate their chain of custody —— BASF’s thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) plants in mainland China and Taiwan have obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon (ISCC PLUS) certification.
This certification enables BASF to provide TPU products with sustainable specifications. The certification confirms that BASF’s TPU products produced in China and Taiwan adopt the mass balance method and use renewable raw materials, while having the same product performance as fossil-based products and reducing the product carbon footprint (PCF).
Andy Postlethwaite, Senior Vice President of BASF and responsible for the Performance Materials Division in Asia Pacific, said: Certified chain of custody is the only guarantee for the use of non-fossil recycled and renewable raw materials. ISCC PLUS certification covers all stages of the value chain and ensures that certain quantities of fossil raw materials are replaced by renewable raw materials. Therefore, supporting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals is a strategic priority on our green journey.
TPU is generally used in the production of footwear, sports and leisure products
