Perstorp launches 100% renewable polyols with negative carbon footprint

Recently, Perstorp launched a new sustainable polyol product, which now achieves a 100% renewable mass balance carbon content. By introducing the principle of biological CO2 absorption from renewable raw materials, Perstorp products will be able to achieve a negative carbon footprint when leaving the factory. Neeture® N100 (Neopentyl Glycol) and Evyron® T100 (Trimethylolpropane) are based on a traceable mass balance concept designed to reduce the carbon footprint across the value chain and support sustainable sourcing of renewable and recycled raw materials.

Perstorp was the first in the industry to launch the renewable carbon-content polyol product Voxtar® in 2010, and this re-expansion of its environmentally friendly product portfolio has further consolidated Perstorp’s position as a well-known low-carbon footprint chemical supplier in the industry. This means that Perstorp can provide multi-based polyol products (TMP, Neo, Penta) with the lowest carbon footprint in the industry, which is a major milestone, marking that Perstorp will be able to phase out the fields of resins, coatings and synthetic lubricants Original fossil raw materials widely used to meet future market demands.

Neeture® and Evyron®, as well as all other Perstorp environmentally friendly products, are certified by the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) sustainability certification system. ISCC PLUS aims to ensure that the stringent sustainability requirements of businesses, brands and consumers are met. Perstorp’s product, mass balance and product carbon footprint data (updated and audited annually) are ISCC PLUS certified.

Perstorp achieves a mass balance through traceable physical and chemical properties, without any transfer of carbon credits and takes into account all the different raw materials required in the production of the product. Neeture N100 and Evyron T100 are produced using ISCC-certified bio-based or bio-recycling-based biogas, methanol and propylene feedstocks. Being ISCC PLUS certified means that all of our environmentally friendly raw materials – from source to every part of the value chain – comply with EU ISCC PLUS or ISCC certification requirements. Our environmentally friendly products offer the quality and performance of fossil-based raw materials, but with environmental advantages.
