It is understood that the project is located in the Petrochemical Industrial Park of Qinzhou Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, Guangxi, covering an area of about 623 acres, with a total investment of about 5.5 billion yuan. The construction includes 250,000 tons/year Production facilities for propylene oxide, 200,000 tons/year polyether polyol, 50,000 tons/year polymer polyol, etc. The project is planned to start construction at the end of 2023, with a construction period of 18 months.
On March 20, Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that it plans to increase the capital of its subsidiary Guangxi Huayi Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co., Ltd. with a total capital increase of 17.42 billion, all in cash. The capital increase will be used to invest in the construction of a hydrogen peroxide-based propylene oxide (HPPO) and polyether polyol integration project in Qinzhou, Guangxi, and deploy new material fields other than the chlor-alkali business.
