Recently, DOMO Chemicals, a global leader in the field of engineering materials, celebrated the inauguration of a new compounding production line at its Indian plant in Mahape, Mumbai’s new urban area.

India polyamide production capacity reaches 8,000 tons/year

DOMO Chemicals has been active in the Nawi area of Mumbai since 2016. Its Technology Center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to develop new solutions for the Indian market. These include a focus on metal replacement and lightweighting solutions, electric friendly and flame retardant materials for electric vehicles, food and water contact grades for the appliance market, and automotive cooling solutions.
Expansion of polyamide capacity in South Korea
In early 2023, DOMO Chemicals announced that it has signed a manufacturing contract with MIKAINC, a Korean plastic compound manufacturing and distribution company.
MIKAINC. Vice Chairman and CEO Kim (Andrea) Jong-hyeon emphasized the importance of this move for MIKAINC.: “This new agreement with DOMO gives us the opportunity to add the renowned TECHNYL to our product portfolio. ® brand PA6 and PA66 based engineering materials.”
As the exclusive global owner of the TECHNYL® brand since 2022, this new partnership is another milestone in DOMO’s ambition to expand its nylon-based engineered materials business in Asia.
Commencement of new factory in Jiaxing, China
On March 15, DOMO Chemicals successfully held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory located in Haiyan Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing, Zhejiang.
The investment in the new Haiyan factory is as high as 14 million euros (about 100 million yuan), with a total area of over 40,000 square meters. It is a major investment for DOMO Chemicals in the Asian market. The new plant will produce TECHNYL® high-performance polyamide materials and is expected to be fully operational by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
In 2016, DOMO Chemicals China established a nylon modification plant in Jiaxing, and actively developed business in the Chinese market, continuing to provide a variety of high-performance solutions for the nylon market. After the completion of the new Haiyan factory, it plans to install 5 production lines in the first phase, with an estimated annual output of 35,000 tons of plastic granules. The production capacity will be gradually expanded in the later stage, and the total production capacity will reach 50,000 tons per year.
