The latest data from QinRex shows that in the first seven months of 2023, the United States imported a total of 139.87 million tires, a year-on-year decrease of 22%. Among them, the import of passenger car tires decreased by 10% year-on-year to 90.81 million; the import of truck and bus tires decreased by 24% year-on-year to 26.96 million; the import of aircraft tires increased by 3% year-on-year to 191,000; million; bicycle tires fell 58% year-on-year to 3.54 million.
From January to July, the United States imported 14.33 million tires from China, a year-on-year decrease of 50%. Among them, passenger car tires decreased by 20% year-on-year to 1.51 million; truck and bus tires decreased by 39% year-on-year to 1.29 million.
From January to July, the United States imported 28.81 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 17%. Among them, the number of passenger car tires was 18.72 million, a year-on-year decrease of 9%; the number of truck and bus tires was 7.08 million, a year-on-year decrease of 32%.
Thailand and China are major importers of American tires.
