According to the Zhejiang Provincial Important Production Materials Market Monitoring System, this week (August 21-August 27), the thermal coal price of monitored sample enterprises in Zhejiang Province was 782.62 yuan/ton, a price decrease of 1.3% month-on-month. Recently, the temperature in the province has dropped slightly, and the demand for thermal coal has faced a shift from peak to off-season. The supportive role of seasonal factors in supporting coal market demand has gradually weakened. The power load has decreased, and the price of thermal coal has dropped. In the later period, due to the abundant water in the Yangtze River Basin, the substitution effect of hydropower will continue to increase, further reducing thermal coal consumption. It is expected that thermal coal prices may be weak and volatile in the short term.
